‘ BJ’s’ ROCK- IN- THE- BLUES.
Presented & Promoted by
15th NOVEMBER 2012. LUCAS CAMPBELL.
The legendary “NIGHT TRAIN” from the Bolton area arrived at’ BJ’s station’ at full steam, and entertained the passengers with a pleather of classic blues covers, just the ticket, and mixed these with several original works from the bands previous albums. While we are on the subject of albums the band’s new album entitled “The Silence Spoke” is due for release very soon. The band have an association stretching over the last 25 years or so and have built up over that time a solid reputation and are a popular blues band here in the Northwest. Alec Martin the band’s ‘Station Master’ and lead vocalist, also plays slide guitar, and blues harp is also the bands principal writer of songs, which gives the band something extra to include into their vast repertoire. The bands original works were “Death Angel” “She Said Yeah” “Shadow of the Night and “Howlin’ for my Baby” gave us just a glimpse of Alec’s capabilities, as a writer. The many covers they did were the likes of “Gloria” “I Put a Spell On You”” I Just Want to Make Love To You” “Little Red Rooster” “Troubles” “Louise” “Night Train” (1952) and many more that set us on course for a mighty journey through the best of the blues. Chief engineer and lead guitarist Wally Rumsey on his 1960s ‘Strat’ played as sharp as a needle and fuelling the ‘Night Train’ was chief stoker, bass guitarist Tony ‘Mad dog’ Backhouse and senior signal operator keeping them on schedule was drummer Rob Pusey. The bands web site for further information is www.thenighttrain.webs.com Yes we were all aboard the NIGHT TRAIN right to the end of the line.

These guys have waited a long time for a much deserved slot at BJ’s. The band have been ‘riding the blinds’ for over twenty years now and have built up a great reputation for delivering high quality atmospheric blues rock. Apart from their interpretations of standards & classics I feel that their hidden strength lies within the superb song writing abilities of front man Alec Martin who adds depth and extra dimension to their repertoire.
They also have a new CD out now!
Can’t wait for this one!
Check them out at http://www.thenighttrain.webs.com/
Please arrive early if you want a seat!!

We've had bands on at our pub for over 5 years now but we can honestly say they are one of the top acts around. Most bands are content merely to play covers, but these guys are true musicians. Amazing how they take the crowd with them.
Wanna go for a ride? Yes we do, and have rebooked them. Highly recommended!
